Brian Michael Simonis, 61, Mosinee, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, at his home.
Brian was born April 18, 1960, the son of Barbara (Stachura) and the late Billie Simonis. In 1984, Brian met the love of his life, Lisa Dean. They married on May 14, 1988, and together they had two children, Kalie (Richard) Canales and Ashley (Josh) Chaney. And Brian’s son from a previous marriage, John Simonis. They all survive.
Brian was a graduate from Mosinee High School in 1978. During high school, he was part of the Mosinee Wrestling team which he continued to follow throughout his life, going to many state tournaments and matches. He worked for 28 years as a welder at Steel King in Stevens Point.
Brian loved listening to music, attending many live concerts, and watching his favorite crime shows. He also loved his Green Bay Packers and sports in general.
Brian’s greatest joy in life was being a grandfather having seven grandchildren: Olivia, Dagien, Shelby, Maci, Mason, Zanden and Zayn.
Other survivors include Brian’s brothers and sisters: Tim (Cheryl), Mark (Jamie), Linda, Diane (Duane), Rosie (Joe), Bruce (Sondra), Paul (Carrie), Candee (Mike) and Andy (Christel). Sisters-in-law: June (Bob), Tammie (Jim), Robin (Rodger), Diane (Randy); brother-in-law, Rick (Deb); mother-in-law, Cora; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and his beloved dog, Elmer. He is preceded in death by his father, Billie; Nephew and Godson, Nicholas; niece, Courtney; brother, Willie; two sisters, Marilyn and Karen; brother-in-law, Lester; and father-in-law, Douglas.
Services will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton. The Rev. James Trempe will officiate. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery, Knowlton. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Tuesday, Oct. 12th at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. Visitation will be again from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, at the funeral home.
