Dennis Slivicki, 80, Mosinee, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, at Cedar Ridge Elder Services, Mosinee.
He was born Aug. 13, 1938, in Bevent, the son of the late Peter and Johanna (Landowski) Slivicki. He married Carol on June 2, 1962, at St Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee.
Dennis worked at Briggs & Stratton in Milwaukee. While visiting family in Mosinee, Dennis was hired by Jim Emerich in the front of Charlies Hardware to work at the Mosinee Paper Mill Corporation. He then moved his family to Mosinee in 1965. He had 36 years of service upon his retirement on June 23, 2001, at the Mosinee Paper Mill and lastly worked as a wood room millwright.
After retirement, Dennis enjoyed hunting and fishing and mostly enjoyed his rounds at Sitko’s Bar, Hunters Bar, Charlies Hardware and Piggly Wiggly, and visiting with his daughters, son-in-law and twin grandsons. He loved polka music, church picnics, Pepsi and playing bingo with his friends.
Survivors, besides Carol Slivicki, include their daughters, Darlene (Michael) Unertl and Lisa Slivicki, both of Mosinee; two grandsons, Dustin Unertl, Mosinee, and Tyler Unertl, Mankato, Minn.; one brother, LeRoy Slivicki, Bevent; and one sister, Betty Sawicki, Milwaukee. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Slivicki, and a sister, Dorothy Piech.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Meuret will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and again from 10 a.m. Tuesday until time of services all at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at www.bestefh.com.
