Stephen Patrick Steffke

May 13, 1944 — November 26, 2016

Stephen Patrick Steffke was born on May 13, 1944 to Marcella Johnson Steffke and Stanley H. Steffke of Marinette, Wisconsin.

He graduated from Brookfield Central High School in Brookfield, Wisconsin in 1962. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Miami University in Oxford, OH in 1967. He was a proud brother of the Alpha Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Steve proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971 when he was honorably discharged.

On September 7, 1974 he married the love of his life: Susan Ann Jagler. Together they raised the joys of his life: Shannon Suzanne, 1976, and Andrea Marie, 1979.

Steve died bravely and with dignity after a 14-month courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. His final days were spent at home, in a place he loved, surrounded by all those who loved him.

Steve is proceeded in death by his father Stanley, his mother Marcella and brother John.

He is survived by his beloved brother Jim, his wife Lorie and their children Nancy and Tammy, his sister-in-law Linda and her two sons Jason and Mark as well as his brother Kent.

Steve was grateful and blessed to have married into the Jagler family – a family like no other. On that side of the family he is survived by his parents-in-law Leonard and Margarette (Kosidowski) Jagler and the family they created:

Susie Steffke, Shannon and Chad Carder, his two grandchildren Mason and Saylor McCoy. Andrea Steffke and Anders Nottrott.

Maria (Jagler) and Curtis Beste, Ruthie (Jagler) and Donnie Christianson

Laura (Bychinski) and Eric Vehlow, Bentley, Marcus and Emry

He was a beloved “step-grandpa/uncle” to Avery, Aston, Mackenzie, Aiden and Addi.

His family is Steve’s legacy. They are grateful to have spent one final holiday together in tears, laughter and love.
