Stanley “Stan” E. Swinick, 63, of Kronenwetter, died on Monday, March 7, 2022, at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.
Stan was born on March 31, 1958, in Chicago to Irene (Pietrzykowski) and the late Stanley J. Swinick. He married the love of his life, Sue Cash, on May 28, 1983.
Stan was best characterized as a true friend to lifelong companions and acquaintances alike. His careful, skilled hands served him in younger days as a carpenter and then through a 37-year career with the USPS. As a devoted husband and loving father, those same hands tended their home and raised two children of whom he was proud. Stan valued education and spent his free hours reading nonfiction, especially WWII and military history. In temperate months he smoked meat and cigars in the backyard, always accompanied by blues and rock music. Stan was a man of simple pleasures—he needed only a dog at his feet, a beer in his hand, and dearest by his side.
Survivors, include his wife, Sue; mother, Irene; son, Corey (Carly Gerads) and daughter, Monica (Quentin Stille); sister, Mary (Brian) Bobert; brothers-in-law Robert Cash, John (Deb Coughlin) Cash, and Richard (Craig Feltmann) Cash; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley; brothers, John and Mike; parents-in-law, Cecil and Elizabeth Cash; and brother-in-law James Cash.
