Dorothy J. Thrun, 88, Mosinee, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, at UW Hospital-Madison.
She was born April 24, 1930, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late William and Clara (Windorski) Cass. She married Edward Thrun on June 8, 1963, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton. He died Oct. 24, 2006.
Dorothy worked in retail and owned a small grocery store in Knowlton, Wis., before marrying Edward Thrun and becoming a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to sing and was in the church choir at St. Francis, Knowlton, for over 35 years. She also loved nature and enjoyed gardening, fishing and camping. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Jane Bores, Cameron, Thomas (Janice) Thrun, California, Leonard (Michelle) Thrun, Stevens Point, Cara (Anthony) Reed, Mosinee, Annette (Kenneth) Ryskiewicz, Mosinee, and Catherine (Daniel) Stark, Raleigh, N.C.; 11 grandchildren, Jessica, Stacey and Danielle Bores, Russell, Laura and Elizabeth Thrun, Eric, John and Gina Reed, Alan Ryskiewicz, and Dylan Stark; 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Annabelle (Joseph) Buska, Kronenwetter, and Janet Pasha, Mosinee. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kayla Bores, a great-grandson, Chistopher Thrun, a brother, Carl Cass, and a son-in-law, Robert Bores.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton. The Rev. James Trempe will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Knowlton. There will be an 8:30 a.m. rosary followed by the visitation at 9 a.m. Friday until time of services at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, assisted the family with arrangements.
