Vernon Vincent Vesely, 77, Mosinee died Tuesday October 22, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center.
He was born June 8th, 1947, son of the late Mary (Sirny) and Edward Vesely. He married Margaret Bushmaker on September 12th, 1970, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Margaret and Vernon were married 54 years. She survives. They had two children- Christine and Scott.
Vernon grew up in Mosinee Wisconsin on the family farm where he was one of ten children. He graduated from Mosinee High School and went on to serve in the army. Vernon had several different careers over this lifetime-he was licensed cheesemaker, a cabinetmaker, and worked at Mosinee Paper Mill. His final career was as a Master Plumber, and he owned and operated his own plumbing and heating business.
Vernon had a love for racing, fishing, polka music, and Point beer. He loved walking the dogs every morning, sharing a love of dogs and animals with his daughter. By far Vernon’s favorite activity was any activity with his granddaughters Harper and Hallie. Vernon loved salmon fishing on Lake Michigan with friends and family and spending time at “the land”. Vernon loved fishing in general-whether it be on Lake Michigan, the Mississippi River, the Eau Plaine or up north. Vernon’s love of racing started at a young age, and he was on the pit crew for his friend Bob Mackesy. He passed that love of racing to his son Scott and became crew chief of the pit crew of Scott’s dirt track race car. Countless hours were spent working on Scott’s car getting it ready to race both locally and nationally. Vernon also participated in roasting pigs for Marathon Fun Days, several events, and the annual family Pig Roast held at the land every summer with several family members.
Vernon is survived by his wife Margaret, daughter Christine, son Scott and daughter-in-law Erin, and granddaughters Harper and Hallie. He is further survived by his brother Gordon (Judy) Vesely of Milwaukee, and many nieces and nephews.
