Glen W. Washburn., 89, died on Friday, July 23rd, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center, Marshfield.
Glen was born on October 30, 1931, in Mosinee, WI. The son of the late Lester and Hazel (Hahn) Washburn.
He attended St. Paul Catholic School and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1950, serving honorably in Japan and Korea until 1954. From 1956 until 1960 he re-enlisted with the U.S. Air Force, honorably serving in Saudi Arabia and Germany.
Glen worked at White Pine Copper Mine in White Pine, Michigan for 33 years, retiring in 1991. Following his retirement, he moved back home to Mosinee and enjoyed coffee with friends every morning and was a member of the VFW.
Survivors include; three sisters, Audrey Tessmer, Wausau, Barbara Schust, Racine, and Lynda Ricketts, Cummings, GA; nieces and nephews, David Tessmer, Scott (Edith) Tessmer, Gregory (Paulette) Tessmer, Pamela (Tryg) Knutson, Julie (Brian) Butturff, Dan (Linda) Schust, Wendy (Ernie) DeJesus, Leslie (Gary) Watters, Jill Southerland, Jeff (Pauline) Zell, and Tammy (Bob) Crouch; and 18 great-nieces and nephews, and long time caregiver and friend Gary (Judy) Kosloski. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Gordon, as well as a sister, Marlene Washburn.
Services will be at 11am, Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Meuret will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. Visitation will be from 9am Tuesday, until 10:45am where at that time there will be a VFW service, continuing into the funeral service at 11, all at the funeral home.
