Noreen Wawrzyniec, 88, of Phillips, formerly of Mosinee, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center in Park Falls. She was born in Crystal Falls, MI on Sept. 11, 1932, the daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Lazzary) Hromek. Noreen married her husband of 50 years, Carl Wawrzyniec on June 20, 1953. He proceeded her in death on June 27, 2003.
Noreen was a waitress at the then known Princess Café. She was a den mother to troop 455, a Bluebird leader, and former secretary to St. Monica’s Circle. She was also an election poll worker and a teachers aid at Mosinee Middle School. She loved to play bingo and do easy crossword puzzles. She was an avid knitter of Christmas socks. Many she toiled over with love.
Noreen is survived by her four children, Carl (Cindy) Wawrzyniec, Paul (Brenda) Wawrzyniec, Joe (Rose) Wawrzyniec, and Lori Stoltz; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; and a niece, Karen (Bill) Bauer. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Craig Wawrzyniec, and a son in law, Steven Stoltz..
Noreen’s very big heart will be remembered by all who knew her.
Services will be 11 am Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Meuret will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee.
