Shirley Bertha Witz (Jacob)

Shirley B. Witz, 76, formally of Mosinee, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022, at Aspirus Hospital, Medford.

She was born Dec. 16, 1945, in Athens, WI., the daughter of the late Harold and Eleanor (Baumann) Jacob. She married Donald Witz on Aug. 20, 1966, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1990.

Shirley enjoyed knitting, doing crafts, listening to polka music, and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Marie Witz, Fond du Lac, Matthew (Michelle) Witz, Kronenwetter, Gilbert (Jean) Witz, Wisconsin Rapids, and Donna (Michael) Kalmon, Medford; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Ray (Karen) Jacob, Athens, Gene (Roseann) Jacob, Mosinee, Walter Jacob, Glen (Bonnie) Jacob, Athens, and Bruce Jacob, Athens; five sisters, Gloria (Lyle) Jagler, Merrill, Grace (Robert) Patyk, Lake Geneva, Susan (Steve) Sawyer, Marathon, Rose Jacob, Las Vegas, and Racheal (Steve) Doran, Edgar.

Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a son, Michael, two granddaughters, Kelly and Genna, and one grandson, Richard.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Meuret will officiate. Burial will be in Moon Cemetery, Moon.
