Joan Marie Zell (Clark)

Joan M. Zell, 86, Town of Bergen, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2022, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services

She was born Sept. 5, 1936, the daughter of the late Maurice and Lorraine (Fischer) Clark. On July 1, 1971, she married Howard Zell in Halder. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2020.

Joan was a lifelong and active member of St. Patrick Catholic Parish. She enjoyed working Lenten Fish Frys for many years for the church. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and served on the election board. Joan loved her family very much. She enjoyed traveling and anything involving her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Survivors, include her three children; Julie (Keith) Baxter, Mosinee, Jeff (Pauline) Zell, Mosinee, and Tammy (Bob) Crouch, Reno; five grandchildren: Justin Gottfried, Ashley (Brandon) Kickbusch, Jenna (Brody) Zebro, Brooke (Zack) Ostrowski, Troy Baxter; two great grandchildren: Evelyn Kickbusch and Emmett Zebro; two brothers, James (Laverne) Clark and Jerome (Judy) Clark; and In-laws: Mike (Virginia) Zell, Sue (Gary) Moran, Betsy (Tom) Doran, Ann (Steve) Hagman, and Laurie (Kevin) Watje. Joan is preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Snider; sister in-law, Patricia Olzewski; and brother in-law, Joseph Olzewski.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Halder. The Rev. Joseph Nakwah will officiate. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Halder. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of services, all at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is assisting the family with arrangements.
