Donald Eugene Ziemanski, 87, Mosinee, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning May 26th, 2021, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born on October 16th, 1933, in Arnold, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Clara Ziemanski. As a young man, he was drafted into the Army and served honorably for 2 years.
Don met the lovely Joyce Joan Wetzel, and they were united in Holy Matrimony on July 12th, 1958 in Oshkosh, WI at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2005.
Don was an active member of the La Crosse Diocese for Central Wisconsin and at St. Therese Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Mosinee Chapter of the Kiwanis Club.
He enjoyed bowling, golf, and basketball, along with playing cribbage. Don loved following the Packers, Badgers and Brewers, but mostly cherished watching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren playing in a wide variety of sports.
Don is survived by his children, Donald (Debra) Ziemanski, Gleason, Randy (Vicki) Ziemanski, Mosinee, Brian (Jane) Ziemanski, Mosinee and Lisa (Tom) Spencer, Bryn Mawr, PA; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and sister, Evelyn Behling, Oshkosh.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother Richard, a sister Lorraine, an infant daughter Lori, and a beloved companion dog Winston.
A memorial service will be held on June 10, 2021 at 1:00pm at St Paul Catholic Church, Mosinee. The Rev. Donald Meuret will officiate. Burial will be at St Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the time of service, all at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee is assisting the family with arrangements.
